DAY TWO Monday December 2, 2019   written by Bill Smith

Matthew 21:1-3

Now when they drew near Jerusalem, and came to Bethlehem, at the Mount of Olives, then Jesus sent two disciples, 2 saying to them, “Go into the village opposite you, and immediately you will find a donkey tied, and a colt with her. Loose them and bring them to Me. And, if anyone says anything to you, you shall say, “The Lord has need of them,” and immediately he will send them.”

In Matthew 21:1-3, Jesus is preparing to enter Jerusalem. He sent two disciples to a nearby village to fetch a donkey and a colt. Jesus planned to make his entry riding a humble animal. Jesus said to say that He had need of them and that their owners would send them without question.

If we pay attention, there are many times each day when Jesus calls us to give of ourselves “immediately.” In today’s world, there are so many superficial distractions that, in God’s eyes, are not important. Look through the noise. Someone may have lost a loved one and needs to talk. Someone may ask for food as they haven’t eaten since yesterday. Be humble and answer the calls – why wait?!
