CHANGES IN THE KROGER COMMUNITY REWARDS PROGRAM
Effective September 1, 2014 Kroger changes from the rebate program we’ve had for years to a new program called “Kroger Community Rewards.” This program operates differently and requires active participation from our members in order to receive the kind of donation from Kroger that we have received in the past. The new program affects the church in two important ways:
•In the past, you (the purchaser) bought a $5 card from us, loaded it with money, and all purchases on that card went toward a 4% rebate to the church. Now, you will need to enroll with Kroger online. When you swipe your Kroger plus card, your purchases will be tied to the church’s account and it will receive a percentage. Another change is that your Kroger Plus Card can only be linked to one organization at a time (but you can change organizations at will). You will have to re-enroll each year in August.
•The amount the church receives will change. From a flat percentage, the new program will award rebates based on a percentage of our members’ spending as it relates to the total spending of all participating Kroger Community Reward organizations. That means that the more members we have enrolled and the more they spend, the bigger our percentage of the total rewards.
How does this work?
• Go to krogercommunityrewards.com to register your Kroger Plus card. (If you don’t have a card, you can get one at the customer service desk at Kroger).
• Once you are registered, you can enroll in the community rewards program and name Maxwell Street Presbyterian as your organization. Our organization number is 10246.
• EASY! Now, you don’t have to get a separate card. Just swipe your Kroger Plus Card at the register and your rewards points will be tallied for Maxwell Street!
If you don’t have access to a computer or aren’t comfortable using one, we will arrange to have someone in the office on selected Sundays who can walk you through the process on a church computer.
As always, the proceeds from this Kroger rewards program go directly to local mission work of MSPC! We hope you can continue to assist in this important source of funding for our work!
