Worship

As you enter the Maxwell Street Sanctuary, you see a banner that proclaims “enter to pray…leave to serve.”  While our whole understanding of our life together is centered in living the faith, we recognize the central role that worship plays in helping us center ourselves in God and connect with God’s Word, so that we may be energized by God’s promise and caring to go forth and do God’s work in the world. 10:30 is the time for the Service for the Lord’s Day. There is beautiful music, with choirs and bells and varieties of instruments; there are prayers of confession, intercession, and thanksgiving; a great variety of hymns are sung; the Word is powerfully preached; baptisms and communion occur on a regular basis – God is worshiped and our spirits are filled!
