Children's Ministry

Jesus said, "Let the little children come to me..."

Matthew 19:14

Sunday School is for all children Pre-K-5th grade. We welcome families to join us during worship and then after the Children's moment the Sunday School teachers will take you to your classrooms.

Here are a few reminders and changes for parents to know:
• All children will exit the sanctuary after the children’s moment with the Sunday School teachers.

• All children will meet together in order to introduce our Sunday School lesson through various activities such as games, science demonstrations and dramatic play.

• Finally, parents can pick their child(ren) up in the Fellowship Hall after worship service.

Our Curriculum

LEARNING THROUGH A LENS OF WONDER
Celebrate Wonder is a Sunday school curriculum that engages children’s natural sense of curiosity to help them understand God’s love. It creates a safe environment for kids to ask big questions — helping them explore the Bible in ways that feed their imagination and encourage creativity. Through carefully-selected Bible stories, songs, videos, and hands-on activities, Celebrate Wonder gives children the tools to explore their faith while incorporating it into their daily lives.

Readers for Worship

We are asking children to read the scriptures for worship on the 2nd Sundays of the month.  Please let Michelle Jones know if your child is interested and what month your child would be available to do so.  Again, readers will begin on-line and when we resume in-person worship will read the scriptures during their assigned month. Contact the michelle.jones@maxpres.org if you are interested.

Acolytes

Lighting the candle for worship is an important job! Please let us know if your child would be interested in doing this as a meaningful part of our worship service. Contact michelle.jones@maxpres.org if you are interested.

Children's Choir

Sunday's after worship
Children’s Choir will begin September 11. We meet right after church on Sunday mornings until noon. Any child ages Prek - 5th grade can participate. Your child DOES NOT have to be able to read to participate.

GeNext

GeNext is a program designed for 4th and 5th graders to give them a place to connect and prepare for Youth Group.  Join us for GeNext activities once a month on Sunday's immediately following worship.

Save the dates:
September 11 and October 16 and November 20. Additionally, we will meet before worship on the Sundays that the Children’s Choir participates in worship service.
